Hello, There is no SLMODEMD.gcc4.2.tar.gz package there. I downloaded, compiled and installed slmodem-2.9.11-20070813 package, did modprobe slamr, but it still does not work. It shows the error: error: mdm setup: cannot open dev `/dev/slamr0': No such device error: cannot setup device `/dev/slamr0' What can I do now? on 11/19/2007 05:33 PM Antonio Olivares said the following: > There is candidate modem software. > > For candidate modem in PCI bus: 00:1b.0 > Class 0403: 8086:27d8 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G > Primary PCI_id 8086:27d8 > Subsystem PCI_id 1025:012a > Softmodem codec or chipset from diagnostics: > from Archives: > > > Lacking a dsp (digital signal processing) chip, the modem is a software > intensive or "softmodem" type.
