Problems with Agere V92 modem in kernel 2.6.20

Hi =-)

I have a Kaiomy Technologies Pinball-B v.92 56K pci
fax modem with agere chipset, and i'm trying to make
it work on linux 2.6.20 using zenwalk 4.4 (slackware
based)

my system is a: duron 1.2, 768 ram, mb pc-chips m810,
onboard modem pc-tel hsp56 AMR and sis 630 chipset

the modem is identified like this in lspci:
00:0b.0 Communication controller: Agere Systems
Unknown device 0620

i downloaded the agrsm-20070804.tar.gz driver,
compiled and installed successfully
the modules are ok, and i don't have errors in the
"modprobe agrserial" and "modprobe agrmodem"
the /dev/ttyAGS3 device is created too
and i make the link for /dev/modem

the problem is that when i try to use the modem, i
have this result )(taken from the troubleshooting
page):
"7. wvdial sends ATZ, modem does not reply OK:
installation failed. Reexamine all installation logs."

but i have this in KPPP, and in the configurations,
when i use the "Query Modem", the dialer sends all the
ATI commands, but when the results window appear, it
dosen't have nothing in the commands outputs

i already tried to reinstall the driver (since friday
i'm trying this =-P), read the readme files from the
driver package, tried to take off the pc-tel modem
from the computer (to sse if hasn't a confict), tried
the martian drivers (don't work, it didn't created the
/dev/ttySM0 device), the ltmodem drivers for 2.6
kernels (gives error when i try to modrprobe the
ltmodem module, says that don't find the device) and
the drivers dor linux that shipped with the modem
cd-rom (the same from the advantek site, they don't
compile here), the other agrsm drivers (don't compile
too) and searched in google for much time =-\

the modem is working i tested it in windows for more
than 4 hours without problems

my modem info (from the scanmodem script) is here (the
pc-tel information is here too, but i think this isn't
from interest since this modem is **working** =-P (it
hangs every 2 or 3 minutes))

i really don't know anything more to do, and maybe is
something more simplier than i think =-)

someone have any ideas?

thanks for the attention =-)
