Dieter, from /etc/modprobe.d/hcfpci:alias /dev/modem /dev/ttySHCF you seem to have properly installed hcflinmodem software already. The modem should be found by $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf After which edit in your personal information with: $ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf removing the ; and < > symbols. Then Save and dialout with: $ sudo wvdial If you need help further. Please be explicit about the problem.
