Just follow the instructions for using hsfmodem software.
Eventually http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads-ubuntu-x86.php
will have a package for 2.6.22-12-generic.

But for now from
http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads.php   get the
	hsfmodem_7.68.00.00full_i386.deb.zip
to unzip under Linux and start the install and compilation with:
$ sudo dpkg -i  hsd*.deb
