Del, Send the entire ModemData.txt please. Primary controller 8086:293e is definitely a novelty to us. Follow the instructions in SoftModem.txt to run diagnostics under Microsoft and get more info on the modem. I just downloaded specs on GA-P35-DS3L and its ICH9 controller. It is not apparent that there is a modem card on your System at all, just the built in ethernet. Most of the "software modems" do not work transparently on 64 bit systems, unless you boot in 32 bit mode. Hence you should shop for a Controller Chipset (hardware) modem, that will be supported by the serial drivers in any Linux release. Yes, I'm on dial-up with one phone line. >
