Would you please get the scanModem from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/
Run it and send us the output ModemData.txt
slmodemd supports a varierty of softmodems, with those using the slamr
driver being only one.

But regardless, devices are created in RAM space and do not survive reboot. Use
# mknod -m 660 /dev/slamr0 c 242 0
to make the device, and read the Smartlink.txt documentation on
automation of this step.
