RE: Update: I found a way to get the
10b9:5459 (Smartlink SL1800
to work on my system.  The required magic is:
    setpci -d 10b9:5459 latency_timer=10

Do you thing a cogent test could be written into either the slmodemd
or slamr code?
This is beyond my personal capabilities.
