http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hcf/full/downloads-mepis-x86.php
doesnot have a package that is version matched with 2.6.15-27-desktop
if night be easier to install one of the kernels for which there is a
pre-compiled driver package.
Otherwise you will have to use hcfpcimodem_1.13full_i386.deb.zip
instead and compile.
