Hi!
I successfuly load slmodem: slmodemd --alsa hw:0 -c RUSSIA
Then create symlink /dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/modem
And I succesfuly talk with my modem on AT language :) in KPPP
All is OK, but when I attempt to dial I always receive message "NO
CARRIER" even before my modem will try to dial.
One more. In YourSystem.txt I found that I should use modem:1 instead of
hw:0, but I always receive:
"ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1305:(_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card
error: alsa setup: cannot open playback device modem:1 No such device
error: cannot setup device modem:1 "
even after:
modprobe -r snd-intel8x0m
modprobe snd-intel8x0m
P.S. I don't want to use wvdial program. Can you help me with it? Thx

and read instructions therein. But briefly, the modem is setup with command:
slmodemd -c YOUR_COUNTRY --alsa modem:1
reporting dynamic creation of ports:
/dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/pts/N , with N some number
