Marco,
Yours is a rare case where scanModem couldn't acquire criticaldiagnostic iinformation.
While the archives lack information for PCI ID SubsystemID Name--------- --------- -------------- 1002:437b 1179:ff00 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SB450 HDA Audio
under some other primary PCI ID controllers, the 1179:ff00 Subsystemdoes house an Agere softmodem chip. If there were no other factors, this would mandateas Anotonio recommended also:---------------------------------- Download from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/ the package SLMODEMD-1.0.13.tar.gz having a compiled slmodemd. Unpackunder Linux with: $ tar zxf SLMODEMD-1.0.13.tar.gz and read instructions therein. But briefly, the modem is setup with command: slmodemd -c BRAZIL --alsa hw:0,1 reporting dynamic creation of ports: /dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/pts/N , with N some number-------------------------------------
But please send me some further information, to better understand your case.1) Do try and get modem diagnostic information during a Microsoftbootup, as described in SoftModem.txt
2) Do$ dmesg > dmesg.txtand send me the dmesg.txt
3) Do$ cp -a /proc/asound/ marco$ tar cfz marco.tgz marco/and send me the marco.tgz
