slamr driver on a AMD x86_64 PC

Folks,
 Does anyone have Smartlink slamr driver working on a X86_64 system?
The AMD 64 machine I have access to only has a 32 bit bridge
and the compiling support that Devinder requires is not easily installed.

I don't have any personal experience with these Systems.
However the modem will have to be run in 32 bit modem,
since the pro-compiled binary components of slamr and slmodemd were 32
bit compiled.

Anyone have any experience or guidance, I remember Sasha commenting
that 32 bit libraires have to be installed for the compilation on an
x86_64 system.

These drivers were compiled on a
$ uname -m
  i686
so the linux-headers installed were i686 specific
while Devinder's system like needs X86_64 specific headers,
which I still have to get to tonight.
