RE: With wvdial the connection FRECUENTLY FAILS. About 40% of thetrials it is able CONNECTS but it is disconnected after some seconds.--------There is clearly a noisy line condition. Try the effects ofInit2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +MS=90andInit2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +MS=34
and decreasing the MTU. from "man pppd" about /etc/ppp/options settings, per below.
MarvS--------
mru n Set the MRU [Maximum Receive Unit] value to n. Pppd will ask the peerto send packets of no more than n bytes. Thevalue of n must be between 128 and 16384; the default is 1500. Avalue of 296 works well on very slow links (40 bytes for TCP/IP header+ 256 bytes of data). Note that for the IPv6 protocol, the MRU mustbe at least 1280.
mtu nSet the MTU [Maximum Transmit Unit] value to n. Unless the peerrequests a smaller value via MRU negotiation, pppd will request thatthe kernel networking code send data packets of no more than n bytesthrough the PPP network interface. Note that for the IPv6 protocol, the MTU must be at least 1280.
