Problem with Motorola SM56 / Smartlink SL?

Hi!
I got a modem without manual, I couldn't figure out
its brand nor its chipset. So I downloaded the
"scanModem" script from linmodem.org. I included the
"ModemData.txt" file, if you want to check it out. But
I think it told me to try the Smartlink driver.
So I get "ungrab-winmodem-20070505" and
"slmodem-2.9.11-20070505", and compiled it without
errors (as far as I know).

First I loaded the "ungrab-winmodem" module, I get
this message:

device 1057:3052 is grabbed by driver serial: try to
release

Then I loaded "slamr debug=3". I get this message:

And then I get a bunch of messages like these:

May 25 12:02:33 compp4 hald[3431]: Timed out waiting

May 25 12:02:37 compp4 hald[3431]: Timed out waiting
for hotplug event 1099. Rebasing to 1100

Short, it didn't work.
The "scanModem" script told me I can use Motorola
drivers instead, but when I read the Motorola document
created by the script, I find that my modem --is--
supported for the Smartlink driver (somebody named
Zello said that, at least). So, ¿what I'm doing wrong?
¿Or must I search in other place?

Thanks for your time.

Hugo S. Cardozo

The base of the UDEV device file system is: /dev/.udevdb

Versions adequately match for the compiler installed: 4.0.1
and the compiler used in kernel assembly: 4.0.1

 Compiling resources appear complete:
   make utility - /usr/bin/make
   Compiler version 4.0

In case of a message like:

see http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/bigarch/archive-sixth/msg04656.html

Read Modem/YourSystem.txt concerning other COMM channels: eth0
Which can interfere with Browser naviagation.

Don't worry about the following, it is for the experts
 should trouble shooting be necessary.
