Unfortunately, there is no problem at all.
Your modem is a Conexant modem model HSF.
There is NO other Linux driver than the Linuxant driver which can make it work. The free version of this driver is limited to 14.4 kbauds and does NOT support FAX. So, if you do not want to pay the price asked by Linuxant, there is only one alternative: buy some other modem.

The gfax is kill but with windows is very work and the modem work well.

Formal support for Conexant chipset modems are available ONLY through http://www.linuxant.com/drivers. Read Conexant.txt for details.
 and Modem/YourSystem.txt for follow through guidance.  Driver speed is
limited to
 14,400 until a key is purchased.  There is NO freeware alternative.
 There are two support package types: hsfmodem  and hcflinmodem.

 problem and solution in stalling a key, after testing of the free low
 speed download.
