Hi,

it is important that you DO NOT install a 3rd party version of ALSA, it will break the HSF driver because the kernel headers will be out of sync with the new ALSA modules.

Please try with an unmodified kernel (no 3rd party version of ALSA installed) to see if there is a difference. You should send a new dump to support@xxxxxxxxxxxx generated while using version 7.60.00.04 if using an unmodified kernel doesn't solve the problem.

Jonathan, and All at Linmodems,

this note to inform you that the latest linuxant driver still does not
support following (my) modem.

Here is the reference to the last of previous mails:
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/bigarch/archive-seventh/msg00575.html

The device is:

High Definition Audio card, shipped in a ACER notebook Aspire 5102 WLMi
Class 0403: 1002:437b Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device
437b

hosting a conexant HSF modem Vendor Id: 0x14f12bfa, Subsystem Id:
0x1025009f

I successfully installed ALSA 1.0.14rc3 and hsfmodem_7.60.00.04full_k2.6.17
_10_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb but the modem is not detected by the driver, as
with the previous versions.

If, as in your last reply, you think this is an ALSA bug, then it should be
Linuxant to notify it to ALSA developers (as you only have the know-how
about the driver and how it interacts with the system).

Regards
Antonio
