I don't have problem finding the modem, it is configured and, as far as I could understand the messages from 'slmodemd', it is configured and answers the commands as expected, as showed in the log bellow. The problem show up during modem setup in the dial process, there is a message that I suppose is from the "snd_hda_intel" module saying that some parameter value/format is wrong. This is not my problem only (ok, it is kind of perversion of character, but I use to consult list history previuously. ;)) as can be seem by other messages like : http://archives.linmodems.org/26264 and http://archives.linmodems.org/26425 > > Do an edit: > # gedit wvtest > replacing the < > blocks with your persona info, and adding a line: > Carrier Check = no > > Then try a dialout with; > # wvdial --config wvtest > No difference, it keeps sayng "No Carrier! Trying again.", 'sldmodemd' keeps sayng "error: cannot setup hw params for playback: Invalid argument" for each dial tentative and dmesg shows a "hda-intel: invalid format_val, rate=9600, ch=1, format=2" for each try. > MarvS > scanModem maintainer Oh ! Great ! That is a great tool, very usefull and quite informative, I've learned a lot with the output it generates ! Thank you very much for your effort, I really appreciate it a lot. The only point in the texts generated that really puzzled me is the "SomeName" in the suggested subject os the message to send ModemData.txt. What was that supposed to be ?
