Hello,
Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm trying to install the
hsfmodem_7.60.00.01full_k2.6.17_11_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb package in my
laptop but I get this:
-----------------------------------------------------------
xavier@acer:~$ sudo dpkg -i
hsfmodem_7.60.00.01full_k2.6.17_11_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb

When reporting a problem for the first time, please send
us the file generated by "hsfconfig --dumpdiag".
Pre-built driver modules that seem compatible with your system were
found under
/usr/lib/hsfmodem/modules/binaries/linux-2.6.17-11-generic-SMP.
Would you like to use them? [yes] yes
Warning: no device detected by hsf driver - HDA modems may require reboot
Note: kernel module snd-via82xx-modem overridden by hsfmc97via
Note: kernel module snd-intel8x0m overridden by hsfmc97ich hsfmc97sis
Note: kernel module snd-atiixp-modem overridden by hsfmc97ati
-----------------------------------------------------------
And that's it!
I've also run slmodemd but all are problems, questions and nothing else.
Is it any tip for me?
Thanks and kind regards.
Xavi.

and Modem/YourSystem.txt for follow through guidance. Driver speed is limited to
14,400 until a key is purchased. There is NO freeware alternative.
There are two support package types: hsfmodem and hcflinmodem.
http://www.lorenzobettini.it/linux/LinuxSonyVaioVGN-S5VP_B reports a
problem and solution in stalling a key, after testing of the free low

The hsfmodem package serves a great variety of Conexant chipset modems.
From http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads-ubuntu-x86.php
download hsfmodem_VersionSpec_k2.6.17_11_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb.zip
with 2.6.17_11_generic equivalent to 2.6.17-11-generic, your kernel version.
Under Linux unpack with:
$ unzip hsfmodem*.zip
Then install with:
$ sudo dpkg -i hsfmodem*.deb
Subsequently, the modem should be found with
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
Edit in your personal information with:
$ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf
and try dialing out with:
$ sudo wvdial.
See Testing.txt for details.
