I have this modem as listed by lspci: 00:1f.6 Modem: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Modem Controller (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [Generic]) Subsystem: Benq Corporation Unknown device 5005 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 6 I/O ports at e200 [size=256] I/O ports at e300 [size=128] Capabilities: <access denied> I,m running ubuntu 6.10 and I load snd_intel8x0m and slamr modules as in linux gentoo. Then I use slmodemd and wvdial in this way: -/usr/sbin/slmodemd --country=ITALY --alsa modem:1 -wvdial.conf [Dialer Defaults] Modem = /dev/ttySL0 Baud = 460800 #Init1 = ATZ Init1 = ATX3 Init2 = ATQ0 X3 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 ISDN = 0 Modem Type = Analog Modem Carrier Check = no Stupid Mode = yes #Phone = 7010187187 Phone = 7007000055 Username = c.polisini@xxxxxxxxx Password = unaparola Compuserve = 0 Force Address = Idle Seconds = 300 Auto DNS = 1 New PPPD = yes The problem is that when I download files that is bigger than 800KB/1MB, the modem hang up often, but if I navigate web it doesn't disconnect. cat /var/log/messagges ...
