      aplay -l | grep -i modemcard 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 6: Si3054 Modem [Si3054 Modem]----------looks fine. Try:$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.confIf the modem is detected:$  sudo gedit wvdialconf   /etc/wvdial.confput in your personal info.  THen dial out with:$ sudo wvdial
If the modem is not found, ir may because the sl-modem-daemon is notsmart enough to do the hw:0,6  specification. I'm not sure. You cando:$ sudo  /etc/init.d/sl-modem-daemon stopThen manually to
$       sudo slmodemd -c YOUR_COUNTRY --alsa hw:0,6 which should report       /dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/pts/NIf so follow through as previously described.THere is nothing that well do damage to our System
