well that's a shame. the usb modem is a temporary solution until broadband is installed. i'm trying to make a convert from windows but i won't be able to get anything set up without an internet connection...
any suggestions about where to look for usb modems? i've looked as much as i can...

Indeed scanModem is useless here because scanModem is intended for
internal PCI analog modems, not for external USB modems.
Our group is not competent for USB modems.
