Dual-stack is pretty much the "preferred" way to go these days, though
personally, I've not had the experience as yet. Here are a couple of
things for you:

I don't have a specific HOWTO for you, but I have gleaned that there are
*some* functions in iproute2 which are not (yet/fully) implemented for
IPv6 in current versions of the package (search the net and some bug
reports crop up from the past 12 months or so). You might want to peruse
some of those hits.

If anything else jumps out at me, I'll post it.
