I didn't expect you could, but it's a kernel panic after the tail end
of what appears to be a mount failure (http://imagebin.org/280445 for
others' sake).  The guest system has hit dracut, so it's already well
into the booting process by the time this image was captured,
indicating the image converted successfully and is likely failing from
some hard configuration internal to the image that relies on ESX
semantics.

I'm guessing root= or the root entry in /etc/fstab, neither of which
are something qemu-img is going to touch.
