Slow serial connection to guest when not connected via VNC

Hi,

i'm using stock debian lenny 64bit (kvm-72) as host

and debian lenny 32bit (kvm-72) as guest.

I enabled the serial console in guest via inittab:

  T0:23:respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 9600 vt100 (same problem with 57600)

The guest is started by virsh with option

  -serial pty -monitor pty -vnc

Now when i connect via VNC to this guest and on the host do

  virsh console VMNAME

Virsh connects to the serial console from guest. the speed of the
connection is fine.

As soon as the VNC connection is closed serial console begins to slow down.
Pressing a key 10 times in a row results in 2 chars being fast, then a
delay of 1-2 seconds,
again some chars being fast drawn in console, a pause .... and so on.

Connecting back to this guest via VNC restores normal serial console speed.

Any ideas welcome.

Please CC me on replies.

Thanks

Marcel.
