[Android-virt] How does virtio-mmio present itself in /dev?

I failed to mention that I followed this advice, and I'm just not sure what to look for in /dev. ls /dev/block shows only:

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root   60 Feb 17 22:04 .
drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 3140 Feb 17 22:11 ..
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   10 Feb 17 22:04 179:0 -> ../mmcblk0

so I'm inclined to think that my next step is to ensure that virtio is even happening.
