The visit, one of the largest tours undertaken by the diplomatic corps, is part of the State Department's new Experience America program. It host tours of cities and towns across the United States in an effort to make exploring America more accessible to the Washington, D.C., diplomatic corps. NASA and State Department officials, and ambassadors will be available for brief media interviews during their tour at 12:55 p.m. Interested reporters should contact Andrea Farmer at 321-449-4318 or Jillian McRae at 321-449-4273. The international dignitaries will be provided an overview of the United States' space exploration programs and NASA's international cooperation in pursuit of exploration and scientific discovery. They will visit various locations at Kennedy, including the Space Station Processing Facility and Launch Pad 39A where space shuttle Atlantis is being prepared for its upcoming mission to the International Space Station.
