NASA'S SPACE SHUTTLE ATLANTIS PREPARES TO ROLL TO LAUNCH PAD

NASA's Space Shuttle Atlantis is set to embark on a four-mile journey 
to Launch Pad 39-B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla. on Monday, 
July 31. First motion is scheduled for 12:01 a.m. EDT. Atlantis' 
launch window begins Aug. 28 for an 11-day mission to the 
International Space Station.

The fully assembled space shuttle vehicle, consisting of the orbiter, 
external tank and twin solid rocket boosters, will be mounted on a 
mobile launcher platform and delivered to the pad via a crawler 
transporter. The process is expected to take approximately six hours.

NASA TV will provide live coverage of the rollout beginning at 6 a.m. 
EDT as Atlantis approaches the launch pad. Video highlights of the 
rollout will air on NASA TV's Video File segments. For NASA TV

Media must arrive for a photo opportunity at Kennedy's Press Site by 
5:30 a.m. EDT for transportation to the viewing area. Dates and times 
are subject to change. Media should call 321-867-2525 for updates. 
Permanently badged media should contact Kennedy's News Center at 
321-867-2468 by 4 p.m. Friday, July 28, if they plan to attend 
rollout activities. Media without Kennedy credentials should submit 
requests via the accreditation Web site at:
