NASA OFFICIALS VISIT ORLANDO SCHOOL TO SHARE VISION WITH YOUTH

NASA's Kennedy Space Center officials will visit Howard Middle School,
a NASA Explorer School in Orlando, Fla., on Friday, Nov. 4 to share
the Vision for Space Exploration with the next generation of
explorers. The presentation will begin at 1 p.m. at the school,
located at 800 E. Robinson Street. Howard was selected as a NASA
Explorer School in May.

"NASA is implementing a bold, new plan to take us back to the moon and
beyond. Tomorrow's space explorers are in today's classrooms," said
Jack Fox, KSC deputy director of External Relations. "NASA remains
committed to working with our schools to capture the imagination of
our next generation of explorers and encourage them to take an
interest in math, science, engineering and technology."

NASA officials will talk with students about our destiny as explorers
and NASA's steppingstone approach to exploring Earth, the moon, Mars
and beyond. They will also discuss the many ways space impacts our
lives and how people and machines rely on each other in space.

For media interested in arranging interviews in conjunction with the
visit to the school, please contact Amber Philman at 321/867-2468 or
321/431-4970.

The NASA Explorer Schools Program provides educators, students and
families with classroom resources and innovative technology based on
NASA's unique research, discoveries and missions. During the
three-year partnership, NASA assists schools in addressing needs in
science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
