MISSION: STS-111 - 14th ISS Flight (UF2) - MPLM VEHICLE: Endeavour/OV-105 LAUNCH DATE/TIME: June 5, 2002 at 5:22:49 p.m. EDT KSC LANDING DATE: June 18, 2002 at 11:55 a.m. EDT CREW: Cockrell, Lockhart, Chang-Diaz, Perrin; (ISS up) Korzun, Whitson, Treschev; (ISS down) Onufrienko, Bursch, Walz ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles/51.6 degrees Shuttle Processing Note: Flight control managers at Johnson Space Center decided to wave off both landing attempts today due to low clouds, showers and possible thunderstorms in the Kennedy Space Center vicinity that would violate weather constraints at time of landing. The first of two landing opportunities available for tomorrow is 11:55 a.m. EDT with deorbit burn occurring at 10:47 a.m. The second landing opportunity for tomorrow would be 1:31 p.m. EDT. The weather forecast for Tuesday indicates a continued chance for thunderstorms within a 30 mile radius of KSC. Edwards Air Force Base in Calif., will be called up as a backup landing site for Tuesday with the first opportunity occurring at 3:00 p.m. EDT. MISSION STS-107 -SPACEHAB/ FREESTAR MICROGRAVITY RESEARCH MISSION VEHICLE - Columbia/OV-102 LAUNCH DATE: July 19, 2002 KSC LANDING DATE: August 4, 2002 MISSION DURATION: 16 days CREW: Husband, McCool, Anderson, Chawla, Brown, Clark, Ramon ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 150 nautical miles/39 degrees Shuttle Processing Note: Processing continues for the STS-107 microgravity research mission scheduled for July 19. The doors on the payload bay, containing the SPACEHAB/FREESTAR payload, were closed for flight on Friday and will not be reopened at the pad prior to launch. The Orbital Maneuvering System flight control checkout is complete.
