Subject: Suggestion regarding Taskbar (or task manager?)

Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm writing to the right people, but I want to give suggestion regarding taskbar or task manager (don't remember what it's exactly called) in KDE plasma. I'm a Windows user and I decided to try Linux with the goal to completely shift on Linux, however I encountered few problems which I couldn't fix and which are very important to me. I tried Manjaro KDE Plasma distro. The thing is that, in Windows, I use multiple profiles of browser (16 in total) and I have pinned them in taskbar and I can drag them which account to be ahead or behind of others. In Manjaro, I couldn't accomplish same thing. First, I tried Google Chrome, but it felt badly implemented and also lacked sync option on which I was told that it was Google's decision to remove it, but it's not an issue. I could use different browser as a primary browser which supports profiles, so I installed Vivaldi browser, created profiles, but as I see on Linux there are not shortcuts so if I was simply checking the box to create a shortcut on desktop on Windows, I couldn't do it on Linux. I googled a bit how to pin profiles in taskbar and by manually creating profiles with some small script, I finally managed it, but it wasn't opening in the same window. For example, if I would click pinned "profile 1", it would open new window which isn't pinned. Maybe this can be fixed by changing something in script, but it's not the main issue why I couldn't make like I have it on Windows. Main issue was that I couldn't drag pinned profiles freely. For example, if I wanted to put profile 1 behind profile 4, it didn't allow me. However KDE Plasma's taskbar allowed me to arrange other programs and drag them wherever I wanted. For example if I wanted Elisa player to put behind profiles, I could do it, but couldn't arrange profiles. Because this is such an important issue for me, I went back to Windows.

I really don't know who I need to address this problem, you (KDE Plasma team) or browsers teams or Manjaro team, I don't know, but whoever can fix this, would be great if that person would read my issue and fix it. Clearly profiles on Linux KDE Plasma aren't very well polished. I didn't try other desktop environments My main suggestion is - can you guys make it so that I could easily pin browser profiles in taskbar and let me arrange them? Oh and another issue, I was forgetting... When I managed to pin those profiles with script into taskbar, they all had same icons which is another bummer. In Windows, profiles kept their unique icons. Right now, this is how are my profiles pinned in taskbar on Windows. Here as you see they have different colors:

It would be really nice if profiles management in Linux would be as easy and customizable as in Windows.

Sincerely yours Jaba
