I hate that sort of bug. Because since "it fixed itself" I've no way to
know what was wrong and whether I have to worry about it happening again,
or what to try to do if it does.

But as they say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. If it's working
now...

Meanwhile, I might have figured out my problem as well, tho I've not
tested it yet. After I posted I was thinking about it, and remembered
that I had switched my X/radeon graphics config from using the default
(for my pre-TAHITI GPU) EXA acceleration arch, to glamor, which is the
default on TAHITI and newer.

I had tried that some time ago and had problems, so switched back to EXA,
but this time I haven't seen any (other) problems, so forgot I had
switched. But thinking about it, the crash when powering monitors back
on after allowing them to power down with dpms, started about the same
time I switched to glamor. So one of these days I'll try switching back
to EXA and see if dpms monitor power cycling works again after that. If
so, I'll have a bug to file, tho it'd arguably be with X/radeon using
glamor, not with plasma.
