First... many security-aware people believe that allowing HTML to parse
in mail is a security issue -- consider the number of HTML-mail related
security issues in thunderbird and outlook over the years, for instance,
and how many of them (zero or very close to it) would have existed if
email were kept to plain text and attachments that had to be manually
opened. Among other things, web beacons act as simple spyware, alerting
the spammer or other spy that you've opened the mail. And raw HTML in a
text display just looks ugly. So please turn off the HTML mail, at least
when sending to mailing lists if you can't be bothered to worry about the
security issues and turn it off entirely for both sending and receiving
in your own mail.

Meanwhile, it's the kde cache not the entire system or even your entire
user cache, and your user login isn't broken, just your kde session. You
should be able to login just fine at a CLI (commandline-interface) login,
or even using a GUI (graphical user interface) session other than kde,
perhaps the fallback bare-bones IceWM with an XTerm, for instance, that
many distros include as a fallback GUI in case the normal one is broken,
or using a Gnome or Mate or XFCE or LXDE or whatever session, if you have
them installed.

Similarly, even for kde, it's the kdecache-username, not the entire
system's kde cache, so the system isn't broken, just that particular user
and just for kde, other users should be just fine, just as other login
session types for that user should be just fine.

So you haven't broken your system, only that specific user's kde-specific
session login.
