Hi Alex, I used awesome WM for quite some time now and got used to tiling. Now that I am coming back to KDE I also was looking for a tiling plugin. I came across this one: https://github.com/faho/kwin-tiling Have a look at the plasma5-branch. Unfortunately it did not work for me :( It ate every single key/mouse event or at least prevented to let anything happen: I could not change windows, open te KDE menu, change workspaces, ... So I had to kill X and login again.
