Example, enter "man:ls". It's opened in Chrome normally, but it says
there's two "ls" man pages. Whichever one I select, it simply tries to
download a temporary *.bz2 file.

You've to wait for KDE 4.1, or a bugfix release or build form the GIT.
I'm now on 4.10, and the problem persists :-(
