IIRC, KDE-3 had options (at least two: regular or UNIX) for how items were sorted. I would also like to have these back and if Peter wants to add Natural to the list, that would be fine. However, it appears that a separate check box for a Natural modification of the sort would be best. That said, I think that there is only one thing that I would like for natural sort. It is, if the strings are equal (including an empty string) except for a string of numbers placed at the end, then the numbers should be sorted as though they had been right justified (or had leading zeros). The other changes only confuse me. And, most specifically, punctuation should always come first before numbers and letters. So, the above example would be OK except that "_file" should come first. -- James Tyrer Linux (mostly) From Scratch ___________________________________________________ This message is from the kde mailing list.
