Did some experimentation on the F10 netbook. I can confirm that removing the task manager causes the systray to expand to fill the available space. If this hasn't been bugzilla'd it should be. I couldn't confirm the clock problem, though. It looked absolutely fine to me in vertical, with or without the task manager.
