The digital cameras I've dealt with show up as regular old flash drives (though, in the case of my Nikon I did specifically fiddle with a setting to make it do that). If yours is like that, or can be set to be like that, then it should show up in the New Device Notifier when you plug it in, at which point you can click to open it with Dolphin (which has the more important side-effect of mounting it).
As others have mentioned digikam might work, especially if your camera isn't presenting as a simple flash drive.
