I run on kde from trunk and i do not have this issue. I do recollect that i 
did have such issues with file handling in dolphin. i.e. if i did a delete or 
a drag n drop operation, the operation would only begin after a couple of 
seconds.

Somewhere along the way things became fine. When building from trunk, i think 
it is a good thing to once a while dump the install directory and reinstall 
clean since there could be old files still danging and causing unexpected 
behavior.
