Hi, I use the "Storage Media" kicker applett with HAL and it's working very well, with two exceptions: The floppy is not seen in media:/. The CD-ROM drive is identified as cd writer. The output of lshal shows that the floppy drive is correctly seen by HAL and the cd drive is identified as cdrom. I can put a device link for the floppy drive on the desktop. Maybe related to the problem with the cd: I have a DVD (/dev/hdc) and a CD-ROM (/dev/hdd) on the same IDE. Whatever is used first shows up as DVD, even if I insert a cd in the cd drive. I fixed this by putting corresponding .desktop files in .kde/share/mimelnk/media, but I haven't found a way yet to force media:/ to identify my cd drive correctly. System: Slackware 12 KDE 3.5.7 Kernel 2.6.21 (custom) Any ideas? Joerg ___________________________________________________ This message is from the kde mailing list.
