slow script execution in konqueror

A script file associated to a given file type takes much more time than
executing the same script from a terminal. 

While opening a file by clicking on its icon takes 6-7 seconds, opening the
same file, through the same script, yet entered as command line from the 
konqueror terminal emulation, takes only 1-2 seconds.
Any ideas?
