Hmm, not sure what is causing the delay.

Did you create the .desktop file through the desktop's context menu (right 
click -> new -> link to program)?

If you did, there is a button for advanced settings, one of them is startup 
notification (bounding cursor) and can be deactivated.

Or of you want to edit the .desktop file, the key is
X-KDE-StartupNotify=false
