I have clicked through that sequence numerous times.  I find Settings, then 
Configure KMail, then Composer,  but never find a "Edit Recent Addresses" 
option in Composer screen.  I don't find it in any of the other screens 
either.  I am running Kmail 1.8.2 using KDE 3.4.2. 

I also didn't find the file that was to be edited.  (I looked with the option 
of displaying hidden files.)

I too would like prune the list.  Any suggestions?
