How to delete recent addresses on Kmails composer

How do I delete recent addresses from Kmails composer?

I open the composer, select the "to" button, and have a list of recent 
addresses. Most of these I've only used once, and want to remove them. I've 
been into .kde > config > kmailrc , and removed them manually, but they keep 
coming back. How can I remove these unused addresses so that the list will 
contain ones I'm using more often? There are as far as I can see no entries 
in the address book, as I've never setup address book entries.
