I am running Linux (mostly) From Scratch. I have a few FC 3 & FC 4 RPMs. I updated HAL and DBus and my DeskTop icons for my removable disks (CD, Floppies, Zip) vanished. I also note that my system:/media directory is empty -- no hard drive partitions either. While updating KDE and fooling around with HAL and DBus daemons they reappeared, but were gone again when I restarted my X session. So, I concluded that there is some little thing wrong, but can't figure it out. The SysV startup scripts start a global HAL and DBus daemon and my X session startup scripts start a local DBus daemon for the user. Is there something more that I need to do. -- JRT ___________________________________________________ . Account management: https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde. Archives: http://lists.kde.org/.
