media:/ sees writer as hard disk

When going to media:/ , my dvd-rom is properly seen as a dvd drive.
My writer, however, is seen as a hard disk.

Anything I can do about it? I guess it might have to do with the way KDE
figures the type. I'm running Slackware, no HAL, and I use non standard names
and mount points. /dev/brenner symlinks to /dev/hdd, mount point is /brenner
rather than /mnt/brenner or /media/brenner ("brenner" is german for writer
btw)

Does this have to do anything with my issue?
