I don't know how I did it, but somehow I screwed up my desktop in the
following way:
when I drag a URL from the address bar of my browser (typically Firefox)
onto the desktop, I get the dialog box "filename for clipboard content:"
and a space to type a filename into. This simply creates an icon for a
text file consisting of the URL, instead of the desired action which is
an icon that I can click to open the link to the URL in my browser. How
do I fix this?
