Strange, must be a different cause then.
I only had the problem when logging in from different machines into the same 
user account while the home directory was shared via NFS, never had a problem 
when running only one session.

You can put script to run at KDE shutdown into KDEDIR/shutdown
See the end of the startkde script for details.
