im using kde-3.3.1.All Konqueror knows is what the file system tells it. So, it isn't a Konqueror problem. If you can't do it from the command line, then Konqueror won't do it either.
In konqueror i tried to create a folder name /temp but appeared a window dialog asking to change the name because there was a file named temp.
This is absurd because konqueror is treating folders and files as being the same thing.
Of course that would be possible to have a file names temp and also a folder named temp.
In *NIX, all files are equal -- folders and links are just special files so you can not have two entries with the same name in a folder (directory). Sorry about that.
