this doesnt work, it gives /usr
and as i wrote in my first email l already tried 'kde-config --prefix'
The correct prefix for RedHat *is*: "/usr".
If you tried that and you still get the error that it can't find the libraries, then the problem is probably that you haven't installed the 'devel' packages. Start with kdelibs-devel and kdebase-devel.
