Hi there,
The programs required for chess are
gnuchess and xboard.
The first is a command line program, the second is the graphics i.e. the
chessboard.
In my Mandrake-9.2 distro the packages are gnuchess and xboard. They are not
part of the kde system.
I would recommend going to site like rpmfind to locate the above for the
distro that you are using.
