as for your question, what distribution are you running? redhat, mandrake and
suse all use rpms. if you're looking for a game in the kdegames package
called chess (i don't know if there is one since i don't use it) the package
is probably something like "kdegames". so if you're using redhat, you'll
want to do:
# up2date kdegames
(i think) i don't use redhat anymore.
